Genesis
Nisa Srikumdee — also known as Molly Yllom — is a Thai artist who was the first ever to sign a contract with Pop Mart. Crybaby was born in 2017, after the death of her beloved dog, Somchun. Nisa was looking for a way to release something that had no words. As a child, she cried often — and was often told to stop. As an adult, she was afraid to cry in front of others. Crybaby is the answer to all of that — permission for emotions that the world prefers to silence.
A character that doesn't pretend
Reddened eyes, tears on her cheeks, an expression somewhere between overwhelmed and helpless. Crybaby has no gender — she is emotion in its purest form. A symbol that crying is not a weakness, but proof that you are still alive.
Kawaii with Shadows
Big head, small body, intensely marked eyes — a sweet exterior, deeper content. The tension between "cute" and "hurt" works precisely. And that's why it's so hard to look away.
