BE@RBRICK: Tatsuhiko Akashi - KICKOMI

BE@RBRICK: Tatsuhiko Akashi

Dowiedz się więcej →

Tatsuhiko Akashi had a deadline, no time and one idea: to take the silhouette of a bear — which happened to be celebrating its centenary — and map it onto the tried-and-tested skeleton of his Kubrick figure. On 27 May 2001 he handed out the result as a free gift to convention guests in Tokyo. No one knew that one of the most expensive works of art in the history of designer toys had just been born. BE@RBRICK isn't a figure — it's a blank canvas on which KAWS, Chanel, Basquiat and Supreme left their mark. A bear with no face that speaks in the voice of everyone who touches it.
