You step into a narrow alley and never want to leave. Sakura Wine Alley is a slice of nighttime Japan tucked between the books — an izakaya, a cramped ramen bar, a smoking robata grill and sake crates stacked against the wall. Cherry blossoms bloom overhead, and warm lanterns spill their light onto the cobblestones. Inside live the little details that make you come back: tiny menus, colorful signs, bar stools, sizzling skewers of karubi and tebasaki. The whole scene hums with life, even though it's silent.
