SKULLPANDA: Xiong Miao - KICKOMI

SKULLPANDA Creator: Who is Xiong Miao and how the iconic figure series came to be

Dowiedz się więcej →

Xiong Miao started with concept art for games – precise, technical, commissioned. In 2018, she created something of her own: a character that was to be her alter ego. Slower, louder, and boundless. Skullpanda has theatrical costumes, expressive makeup, and an expression that is hard to read unambiguously. Sweet in form, but not necessarily in mood. It's a contradiction that doesn't seek a resolution. It simply resides within it. In 2020, the first series with Pop Mart – Ancient Castle – sold 60,000 pieces in one second. Today, Skullpanda figures are displayed in museums, inspire cosplay trends, and sit on collectors' shelves worldwide. Meet the artist who proved that dark and cute can live under one roof.
