KAKA is an artist from the Pop Mart Design Center — the in-house studio where Chinese designers create their own characters under the Pop Mart brand. In a world where loudness and visual sharpness are the standard, KAKA chose a different path. Nyota is quiet, sensitive and very human. Her name comes from Swahili and means star — a fitting name for someone who exists somewhere between an ordinary day and something infinitely bigger.
Nyota is a quiet introvert who knows how to find joy in ordinary moments. She lives slowly, attentively and without haste. She has a cat named Lumi. She's a Libra and an INFP — KAKA designed not just the look but the very soul of her character.
Slow life and the cosmos
Stars, planets, the seasons, everyday life — KAKA combines cosmic symbolism with the philosophy of slow life. The decorativeness, the attention to detail and the intense yet harmonious colours make each figure look like a fragment of a bigger story — frozen at a specific moment in time. Nyota's figures don't shout; they speak quietly and very clearly.
Quiet, but fast
Nyota debuted at the end of 2023 and in a very short time became one of Pop Mart's best-selling characters in the US — fast, as befits a star. KAKA even appeared at SDCC and at Pop Mart Century City in Los Angeles, which is rare for PDC artists. The queues were long.
Nyota doesn't want to be loud. She wants to be real. And that's why she stands on the shelves of those who are looking for more than decoration.
