Genesis
Wu Dandan — also known as Dan — is a designer at Pop Mart Design Center (PDC) and the creator of Zsiga. As an observer of life and a hunter of emotions, she draws inspiration from daily experiences, especially living with her intrusive cat Shaomai. Gentle and charming day-to-day, Shaomai bristled menacingly at the sight of larger cats — this contradiction became the heart of Zsiga: a character in whom sweetness and audacity coexist, one not hindering the other.
Who is Zsiga
A forest child with spikes at the ends of her hair. Rebellious, free, wild, and a little mischievous — but never malicious. The spikes are not weapons — they are protection. And at her feet, a small puppy always sits: an inseparable part of herself.
Uncensored Emotions
Dandan believes that people are three-dimensional, and their emotions are diverse and should be expressed genuinely. Good is good, bad is bad. Zsiga is a symbol of courage in the face of one's own feelings.
Visual Language
A mischievous glance, a pout, a wide toothy smile, cat-like eyes. Zsiga has a whole repertoire of expressions, each with a different story. The spikes at the ends of her hair are her signature — recognizable from afar.
Dialogue with the Inner Child
Dandan uses Zsiga to talk to the child deep within herself. Zsiga is a reminder to maintain innocence and courage even in the face of the unknown.

Curiosities
🐱 Inspiration: Shaomai the cat
Zsiga was born from observing Dandan's cat — Shaomai. Gentle with its owner, it bristles at larger cats. This tension between softness and apparent aggression became Zsiga's DNA.
🐾 Easter egg: the puppy
The little dog at Zsiga's right foot is not an ornament — it's her best friend, literally a part of her. Look for it in every series and every figure.
🏛️ "I'm Zsiga" Exhibition Beijing
In July 2025, a dedicated Zsiga exhibition was held at China World Mall in Beijing — with a Dandan signing event and art installations. Queues stretched down the street.
🏗️ PDC — in-house studio
Zsiga comes from Pop Mart Design Center — Pop Mart's in-house design studio. Dandan is an employed artist, not an independent creator, which is a rarity in the art toys world.
