The Care Bears have finally got their doubles — and something has clearly gone wrong. In this collaboration the pastel bears meet the Fugglers, and together they make something soft, rainbow-coloured and slightly unsettling, because from under all that sweetness peek suspiciously human teeth. Twelve centimetres, a clip and you're set: backpack, bag, keys, camera strap. There are seven bears in the series and one in the box — which one, nobody knows. Rumour has it a rare piece with a collector's mark on its back is also out there.

Louise McGettrick was looking for a gift for her husband and ended up with a bag of fake teeth from eBay. She sewed them into a plush bear. Her husband was horrified. For her, it was a sign she was on the right track. And so, in 2010, the Fugglers were born — “Funny Ugly Monsters” — plush monsters with human teeth, button eyes and a mission to ruin your life deliberately and with charm. No plan, no budget, no marketing. Just a bag of dentures and a sense of humour that changed the rules of the game in the world of plush toys.
