Wu Dandan, a designer at the Pop Mart Design Center, created the character while watching her cat Shaomai. Gentle and cuddly day to day, he bristles fiercely whenever he meets a bigger cat. That contradiction — soft inside, tough outside — became the heart of Zsiga. A rebellious, free, mischievous forest girl who is never mean. Her spines guard a tenderness she doesn't want to show. Dandan believes emotions should be expressed truthfully — good is good, bad is bad. Zsiga is her conversation with her inner child. From her 2022 debut in Walking Into the Forest, through We're So Cute, Gemini and Take It Slow, all the way to the Care Bears collaborations, every series is a new chapter about how each of us holds both a wild thing and someone very fragile.
