Don’t let the heart-print undies fool you. This little visitor from outer space has about as much in common with romance as rain has with a picnic. He’s a manipulator and a professional spoilsport who flew to Earth on a single mission: to ruin dates. His fur is grey and fluffy, like dust bunnies gathered under the bed across several galaxies. Three human eyes, so no couple holding hands ever escapes his notice, and human teeth set in a grimace of eternal displeasure. And then there are those heart undies, the only proof that deep down he does long for something. He trails after lovers, makes snide remarks, gets in the way and won’t let up until the evening for two lies in ruins. Why? Because he’s simply jealous. Best to clip him onto yourself and give him a little attention. Maybe then he’ll leave everyone else alone.

Fuggler: Louise McGettrick
Learn more →Louise McGettrick was looking for a gift for her husband and ended up with a bag of fake teeth from eBay. She sewed them into a plush bear. Her husband was horrified. For her, it was a sign she was on the right track. And so, in 2010, the Fugglers were born — “Funny Ugly Monsters” — plush monsters with human teeth, button eyes and a mission to ruin your life deliberately and with charm. No plan, no budget, no marketing. Just a bag of dentures and a sense of humour that changed the rules of the game in the world of plush toys.
