“Treat them mean, keep them keen” – this Fuggler's life motto. First he turns on the charm: flashes a gummy smile, shows off his soft, curly fur. And once everyone has gone all gooey, he unleashes a fart tornado that knocks over anyone within a few metres. His fur is lilac, swirled like blueberry ripple ice cream or a cloud at sunset. Slit-pupil eyes and four human teeth poking out of his grin with the grace of someone who knows exactly what he's doing. And finally, the underpants: pink, leopard print. A touch of wildness, done elegantly. He usually lurks behind the toilet, poking the household with a blunt stick. Better keep him clipped to you before he finds a new stick. And new victims.

For her, it was a sign she was on the right track. And so, in 2010, the Fugglers were born — “Funny Ugly Monsters” — plush monsters with human teeth, button eyes and a mission to ruin your life deliberately and with charm. No plan, no budget, no marketing. Just a bag of dentures and a sense of humour that changed the rules of the game in the world of plush toys.
