HiTOY and the girl who stitches up what's broken
Delicate but quietly resilient — with a needle and thread in hand she mends clothes, and emotions along with them. To every adversity she answers with a calm “it's okay”.
Maymei — born in May 2024 — is a delicate but quietly resilient girl with a needle and thread in hand. She knows the world isn't perfect, but to every adversity she answers with a calm “it's okay” and turns negative energy into strength. As she mends clothes, she mends emotions and everyday moments too. Created by the studio HiTOY — the same duo behind Nommi — she quickly became one of the most sought-after characters in TOP TOY's portfolio, Nommi's rival on her own, darker side.
Dark kawaii
Maymei's aesthetic is a mix of darkness and tenderness — the characters have a distinct personality, often unsettling costumes (a circus, a dark forest, a forgotten funfair), but always a hidden warm heart. It's an aesthetic close to “dark kawaii” — a beauty that isn't afraid of shadows. Maymei was born in an ancient castle out of dreams: brave and optimistic, she colours the world with healing and wonder. Her series tell dark fairy tales of a moonlit forest, a cursed funfair and a circus on the border of charm and unease.
Nommi versus Maymei
Nommi and Maymei are sister IPs from the same studio — two faces of the same healing design. Nommi is pastel, soft, travelling between dimensions to collect emotions. Maymei is darker, stitching up what's broken, living in old castles and forgotten forests. Together they form a complete picture: a world where you can be both sweet and boldly strange.
Maymei doesn't promise it'll be easy. She only says “it's okay” — and stitches up what's broken. In a world of characters who want to be perfect, she's the one who repairs.
